“Groups are asholes“ – Klaus Schippers
Humans are inherently social creatures. We exist in relationship to our family, friends, schoolmates, colleagues and other individuals or groups. Therefore, from a very young age we are shaped or conditioned by our social environment. While this social shaping and conditioning can be positive, it can also create negative influences and challenges that block effective communication. I specialize in working with young people in welfare facilities to unravel these negative influences.
I have completed the instructor trainings for Social Competence Training, Social Conflict Training and Social Communication Training SCT©. And I have spent more than twenty years working as a professional social group work leader.
I use these techniques to help young people build integrity and self-esteem within a group system, by learning how to show up with honest communication, develop social competence, handle their own emotions and feelings, and find a place within a group. Ultimately, this work helps young people develop greater consciousness of themselves and others. Witnessing their growth and transformation is something I hold close to my heart.
